The Institute of Biotechnology (IBT), Czech Academy of Sciences has announced an opening for the position of Senior Scientist in Metabolomics and Mass Spectrometry. This role is designed for an experienced metabolomics scientist who will strengthen the CMS Structural Mass Spectrometry Core Facility.

The selected candidate will play a leading role in developing, implementing, and optimizing metabolomics services, including method development, workflow establishment, scientific consultation, and user support. The position also involves working with Bruker mass spectrometry platforms, collaborating with researchers from academia and industry, and contributing to the long-term development of the institute’s metabolomics capabilities.

Eligibility

Applicants should have:

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in metabolomics and mass spectrometry.
  • Strong expertise in metabolic research and analytical workflows.
  • Experience with mass spectrometry instruments and liquid chromatography systems.
  • Ability to independently develop and optimize analytical methods.
  • Experience in data processing, analysis, interpretation, and quality assurance.
  • Excellent communication skills for supporting researchers and scientific collaborations.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high documentation and data quality standards.
  • A relevant advanced degree (such as MSc or PhD) in a related scientific field is expected for this senior research position.
