About
The IIT Bombay Research Internship Awards 2026–27 are now open for applications. The programme provides outstanding undergraduate and postgraduate students with an opportunity to work on full-time research projects under IIT Bombay faculty for 4–6 months.
The internship is designed to provide hands-on research experience in science, engineering, and technology through faculty-led projects. Selected interns receive a fixed stipend of ₹15,000 per month. Accommodation on a sharing basis may be provided to eligible non-Mumbai students, subject to availability.

Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be in the 3rd or 4th year of a Bachelor’s programme or 2nd year of a Master’s programme.
- Be among the top 20% students in their discipline during the previous academic year.
- Be available to undertake the internship full-time.
- Have no coursework requirements during the internship period.
- Meet the discipline-specific requirements of the selected research project.

- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Statement of Purpose (maximum 500 words)
- Academic transcripts
