The Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering (BSBE) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has invited applications for the position of Assistant Professor. The department is seeking outstanding researchers to strengthen interdisciplinary research and teaching at the interface of biology, engineering, mathematics, and computing.
Applications are invited from candidates with expertise in the following areas:
- Computational Biology
- Bioinformatics
- Biostatistics
- Biosensors
- Bioinstrumentation
Researchers with expertise in mathematical and systems-level modelling, AI/ML for genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, drug development, biomedical data science, clinical data science, digital health, point-of-care devices, and other emerging interdisciplinary domains are encouraged to apply.
The selected candidate will be expected to establish an independent research program and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
Eligibility
Applicants should have:
- Strong academic background in Physical Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Computing, or related disciplines.
- Proven research capability in biological problems.
- Expertise in one or more of the advertised research areas.
