About
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has sanctioned an Intermediate Grant to advance regenerative medicine from basic scientific discovery to clinical translation. The multi-institutional consortium aims to develop and validate small-molecule LPA-1 therapeutics through preclinical research, formulation development, mechanistic studies, safety evaluation, and Phase I clinical translation.
The consortium is led by Dr. Santosh Chauhan (Lead Principal Investigator) and brings together researchers from leading Indian biomedical institutions, including Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), and LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI).
The project covers six interconnected research domains:
- Domain 1: Diabetic Wound Healing
- Domain 2: Rabbit Ocular Chemical Burn Models
- Domain 3: Spinal Cord Injury & CNS Regeneration
- Domain 4: Multiple Clinic-Ready LPA-1 Formulations
- Domain 5: Stemness & Cellular Plasticity
- Domain 6: GLP-Aligned Safety, Toxicology & Phase I Clinical Translation
Eligibility
Applications are invited for multiple project positions across different domains, including:

For the Spinal Cord Injury & CNS Regeneration program (Dr. Ishwariya Venkatesh’s group), the Project Technical Support position is intended for candidates interested in experimental neuroscience. The role involves:
- Rodent surgeries (including microsurgical procedures)
- Post-operative animal care
- Behavioural analyses
- Animal colony support
