About
The Professor HS Savithri and Professor MRN Murthy STEM Scholarship for Undergraduate Education is offered under the Empowering Excellence Scholarships Program (EESP) by Ignite Life Science Foundation. The scholarship aims to support talented students from underprivileged or underrepresented backgrounds who wish to pursue undergraduate studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) at recognized Indian universities or institutions.
The scholarship honors Prof. H. S. Savithri and Prof. M. R. N. Murthy, renowned educators and scientists whose dedication to education, mentorship, and scientific research has inspired generations of students. It is supported by their former students, colleagues, friends, associates, and family members.
Scholarship Benefits
- Financial assistance of up to ₹1.5 lakh per year for tuition fees, hostel fees, books, research expenses, and study materials (on an actual-cost basis).
- Renewable every year subject to maintaining 75% or above academic performance and continued eligibility.
- Support available for the complete duration of the undergraduate program (3 or 4 years).
- Access to mentorship, career guidance, internships, and STEM workshops organized by Ignite and its partners.
Eligibility
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Must have secured admission to a recognized Indian university or institution for an undergraduate STEM program.
- Family annual income should be below ₹6 lakh.
- Academic performance in Classes 10–12 will be considered.
- Common college admission test scores (where applicable).
- Two recommendation letters from teachers (Classes 10–12).
- Applicants receiving any alternate funding should disclose the details.
- Short interaction/interview may be conducted if required.
