The Department of Health Research (DHR), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, is inviting suggestions and recommendations on the Draft National Health Research Policy (NHRP) 2026. The draft policy has been prepared through extensive consultations with diverse stakeholders and aims to strengthen India’s health research ecosystem by promoting high-quality, ethical, inclusive, and innovation-driven research.
The policy seeks to:
- Strengthen India’s health research ecosystem.
- Promote ethical, high-quality, and impact-oriented research.
- Improve translation of research into healthcare policies and programmes.
- Encourage collaboration among researchers, healthcare professionals, industry, academic institutions, and the public.
- Build a robust framework for innovation and evidence-based healthcare.
Researchers, healthcare professionals, academic institutions, industry stakeholders, and members of the public are encouraged to review the draft policy and submit constructive feedback to help shape the final National Health Research Policy.
