The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST), Japan, has opened applications for its Visiting Scholars Program FY2027. The program is designed for independent researchers who wish to conduct collaborative research with OIST research units while interacting with an internationally recognized interdisciplinary research community.
Selected scholars will stay at OIST for 3 to 12 months, carrying out independent research without teaching responsibilities. The program welcomes applicants from a broad range of disciplines, including mathematics, physics, computational sciences, chemistry, engineering, life sciences, and other research fields.

Eligibility
Applicants should:
- Hold a PhD in a relevant discipline.
- Be an independent researcher with academic standing equivalent to a senior postdoctoral researcher, junior group leader, or faculty member.
- Be interested in collaborating with one or more OIST Research Units.
- Be able to undertake a research visit between April 2027 and March 2028.
