The Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, in collaboration with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), Japan, has announced the DST–JSPS Call for Proposals 2026 under the Indo–Japan Cooperative Science Programme (IJCSP).
The programme aims to strengthen scientific collaboration between India and Japan through:
Joint Research Projects
Joint Workshops and Seminars
International scientific partnerships
Collaborative research and innovation initiatives
The programme encourages researchers from both countries to work together on cutting-edge scientific challenges and promote knowledge exchange.
Eligibility
Indian Principal Investigators (PIs) should be scientists/faculty members working in a regular capacity in:
UGC-recognized Universities
Deemed Universities
Academic Institutions
National R&D Laboratories/Institutes
Each proposal must include:
One Indian Principal Investigator
One Japanese Principal Investigator
The Japanese PI must be a full-time researcher at a university or research institution recognized by JSPS.
How to apply

Prepare the proposal according to programme requirements.
