DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance has invited applications for the position of Grants Manager at its Hyderabad, Telangana office. This is a full-time, mid-to-senior career opportunity for experienced professionals with expertise in research grants management and biomedical research administration.
The DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance is a Public Charitable Trust established in 2008 through funding from the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, and the Wellcome Trust, UK. The organization supports excellence in biomedical research in India through its Biomedical Research Career Programme.
The selected Grants Manager will co-lead the Fellowships & Grants Team, overseeing the complete grant lifecycle, including:
- Managing fellowship and research grant competitions.
- Coordinating application review and peer-review processes.
- Award administration and post-award management.
- Monitoring grants, reporting, compliance, and impact assessment.
- Supervising the grants management team.
- Developing training programmes for staff and stakeholders.
- Collaborating with national and international research partners.
- Improving grant management policies and operational processes.
- Supporting governance, audits, risk management, and business continuity planning.
Eligibility
Essential Qualifications
- PhD in Life Sciences or a related discipline.
- Minimum two publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
- At least 5 years of experience in grants management within funding agencies.
- Experience in managing complete research grant funding cycles.
- Experience with grant management software.
- Experience handling multiple grant competitions simultaneously.
- Knowledge of post-award grant administration.
- Understanding of research integrity, compliance, and responsible conduct of research.
- Experience managing and supervising teams.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with grant dashboards and analytics tools.
- Experience organizing workshops for applicants and reviewers.
- Knowledge of international grant funding standards.
- Experience working with global funding agencies.
- Understanding of Indian research policy and governance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
