MedGenome is inviting applications for Bioinformatics Scientist and Senior Bioinformatics Scientist positions in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. These opportunities are suitable for professionals with expertise in bioinformatics, genomics, next-generation sequencing (NGS), computational biology and large-scale biological data analysis.
The selected candidates will contribute to the development and implementation of bioinformatics methodologies, analysis of complex genomic datasets, pipeline development and computational solutions for research and clinical development programmes.
1. Bioinformatics Scientist
The Bioinformatics Scientist position is suitable for candidates with a strong background in genomics, NGS and bioinformatics or data science.
Key responsibilities and expertise:
- Analyse genomic and other omics datasets.
- Develop and implement bioinformatics workflows and computational solutions.
- Work with NGS data analysis, programming and data-driven research.
- Contribute to research and clinical development programmes.
2. Senior Bioinformatics Scientist
The Senior Bioinformatics Scientist position is intended for experienced researchers with advanced technical expertise and scientific leadership capabilities.
Key responsibilities and expertise:
- Lead or contribute to advanced genomic and multi-omics data analysis.
- Work with single-cell data, metagenomics and other complex biological datasets.
- Apply strong programming, quality control and troubleshooting skills to NGS analysis.
- Contribute to scientific leadership, mentoring and technical innovation.
Eligibility
Bioinformatics Scientist
- A PhD in Bioinformatics, Genomics, Computational Biology or a related field.
- Candidates with a Master’s degree and 10–15 years of experience may also be considered.
- Strong knowledge of genomics, NGS and bioinformatics or data science.
- Hands-on experience with genomics, multi-omics, single-cell data or metagenomics.
- Experience in NGS data analysis, bioinformatics workflows, programming and computational solutions.
- Experience in clinical diagnostics will be an added advantage.
Senior Bioinformatics Scientist
- A PhD in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.
- At least 5 years of postdoctoral and/or industry experience in R&D genomics, bioinformatics or innovation projects.
- Extensive experience in genomics, multi-omics, single-cell data or metagenomics.
- Strong expertise in NGS data analysis, experimental protocols, quality control (QC), troubleshooting and programming.
- Experience in clinical diagnostics will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrated scientific leadership, mentoring and technical innovation experience.
