IISc / sciverse.in / 12 Oct 2026 09:44 PM

About

The Immunoengineering Summit 2026 is a three-day scientific conference focused on engineering the immune system for therapeutic applications. The summit will bring together immunologists, engineers, computational researchers, modellers and clinicians to discuss emerging developments in immunology, cellular engineering and therapeutic technologies.

The conference is organised by the Immunoengineering Lab in the Department of Bioengineering at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. It will feature scientific talks, poster presentations and opportunities for research discussions and academic collaboration.

Key themes

  • Antibody engineering: Antibody design, antibody–drug conjugates, B-cell engineering and therapeutic antibodies.
  • Cellular engineering: T-cell immunology, CAR-T therapies, adoptive cell therapies, macrophage biology and host–pathogen interactions.
  • Biomaterials engineering: Materials and nanoparticles for immune-cell engineering, neutrophil biology and tissue repair.
  • Computational immunology: Mathematical and computational modelling of immune-cell differentiation, dynamics and pathogen interactions.

Conference details

  • Dates: 10–12 December 2026
  • Venue: TCS Smart-X Hub (TSH) Building, Department of Bioengineering, IISc, Bengaluru
  • Format: In-person
  • Capacity: Limited to approximately 100 participants

Poster presentations and abstract submission

PhD students and postdoctoral researchers are invited to submit abstracts for poster presentations related to immunoengineering.

Applicants should prepare a title and an abstract of up to 500 words describing their research. Submissions will be reviewed by the organising committee, and accepted presenters will receive registration instructions.

The poster sessions will run alongside lunch throughout the three-day conference, providing opportunities to present research and interact with fellow researchers.

Eligibility

For poster presentations

  • PhD students working in relevant research areas.
  • Postdoctoral researchers conducting research related to immunoengineering.
  • Research abstracts must align with the conference themes and meet the specified word limit.

For conference attendance

The summit is relevant to researchers, clinicians, engineers, academic faculty and industry professionals working in immunology, bioengineering, computational biology, biomaterials, cellular therapies and related disciplines.

Registration procedures differ by participant category. Faculty and industry delegates should contact the organisers to request their registration link, while student and postdoctoral registration is linked to acceptance of an abstract.

How to apply

For PhD students and postdoctoral researchers

  1. Prepare a research abstract of up to 500 words on a topic related to immunoengineering.
  2. Submit the abstract through the official online submission form.
  3. Wait for the organising committee’s review and acceptance notification.
  4. If accepted, follow the registration instructions sent by the organisers.
