The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), New Delhi, invites applications for its PhD Program 2026. The program focuses on advanced research in two major streams:
Human Health & Industrial Biotechnology
Plant Science
Research areas include translational health, vaccine development, structural biology, immunology, transcription regulation, biofuel systems, crop improvement, and metabolic engineering. Selected candidates will engage in cutting-edge research under expert faculty at ICGEB.
Eligibility
Minimum Qualification:
First class M.Sc. (≥60%) in any science discipline (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, etc.)
OR M.Tech / MBBS / M.V.Sc / M.Pharm
OR 4-year B.Sc (Hons with Research) with ≥75% or 7.5 CGPA
Qualification must be recognized by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi
Must have Category-I NET/JRF fellowship valid for at least four years from:
CSIR, UGC, ICMR, DBT, DST-INSPIRE, BINC or equivalent
