The Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), Bengaluru has invited applications for multiple full-time contractual positions under its funded Interdisciplinary Research Project (IRP) scheme. These appointments are on a contract basis and are renewable yearly or until the project duration ends, whichever is earlier.
Available Projects & Positions
IBAB is offering positions for the following four research projects, each with a duration of 12 months:

CRISPR-Cas13 for Flavivirus Control in Aedes Mosquitoes (IRP-2025-2)

Position: Project Assistant (PA) – 1 vacancy

Work involves DENV genome analysis, CRISPR-Cas13 assays, Aedes cell culture, and virus challenge studies.

Machine Learning for gRNA Prediction in Cyanobacteria (IRP-2025-8)

Position: Project Assistant (PA) – 1 vacancy

Focus on developing deep learning models for gRNA prediction and related computational biology work.

Autism Comorbid Model (IRP-2025-3)

Position: Project Assistant (PA) – 2 vacancies

Work includes developing foundation models to study genomic signatures of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD.

COMPASS-Core: Promoter Function Mapping (IRP-2025-12)

Positions: Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) – 1 OR Project Assistant (PA) – 2

Involves software development, scripting, web interfaces, visualization, and DNA/protein interaction analysis.

Qualifications & Skills
-
Project Assistant (PA):
Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related fields with at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA.
Skills in molecular biology, cell culture, Python programming, machine learning, genomics, or bioinformatics are preferred depending on the project. -
Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF):
Requires a PhD (submitted or awarded in 2023 or later) with strong computational and programming background.
Salary (Emoluments)

Project Assistant: ₹30,000 per month

Postdoctoral Fellow: ₹60,000 per month
Hostel accommodation may be provided based on availability.
